I’ve just posted part 15 of the serial New Year story and it’s a long one. It’s hard to believe it, but I think the story is finally coming to an end, and the final part should be posted a week from now.
A warning that the completed novella will only remain here for two weeks before being removed, trimmed, and polished ready to be published in a collection with some other stories set after Earth Flight.

Thank you so much for this story. Hard in a way, while impossible to gallop through in order to be reassured about the end, before the first leisurely reread… To look forward to next week or to postpone the last chapter and extend the suspense?
My last social meeting, several weeks ago, was a funeral. No use trying to keep your distance when the chapel is packed and grieving people throw themselves at you. How it hurts to think of all the private pain now caused by the present restraints, as you too had to suffer, and the neighbor who turned 88 without her family, and on and on; I hope you not only give but also receive tokens of hope and joy.
Thank you too for Jarra’s little tree, such a nice thought! And the appearance again of “the lettuce” .

This is an incredibly difficult time for everyone. Writing the serial novella, and escaping into Jarra’s world, has been helpful for me, and it’s good to think it has provided a few bright moments for you and its other readers as well. I hope you and everyone else reading this stays safe and well.

The plan is to include a lot of related stories in the collection, all set between the end of Earth Flight and Year Day 2790. Like the Earth 2788 short story collection, these will let the reader see some off stage events that Jarra doesn’t know about. I’ve got a long list of potential viewpoint characters and ideas, and its just a question of how far I get through the list.
Jarra will definitely be back with her own viewpoint story about the long dreaded conversation with Riak Torrek about her grandmother. The very short story from my website, Your Move, Drago will be included. Fian, Raven, Marlise Weldon, Nia Stone, Jaxon and Riak Torrek are also high on the list. I’m hoping it will add up to a substantial bundle that’s well worth buying even if people have already read the rough version of the novella.

Oh Yea!!!, Marlise and Gemelle are two characters that I have wanted to learn more about, though eventually at some future date I hope you write about a younger Marlise making the decision to join the Military. Am looking forward to any story that you end up by writing and the entire collection.
