I’ve just been looking at the post I put up a year ago, where I said that I had a host of book-related plans for 2016. As it turned out, 2016 was a problematical year, when too many good people made their final bows.
Focusing in on my book-related plans though, I did manage to achieve a lot, including the paperback editions that I’d been promising people.
In the spring, I published a new novella set in the Portal Future of the Earth Girl series. Frontier: An Epsilon Sector Novella in both ebook and paperback. There were also paperback releases of Earth 2788: The Earth Girl Short Stories, and Earth and Fire: An Earth Girl Novella.
I then had two short stories published in anthologies. One in an anthology of Space Opera stories, Crises and Conflicts, published by NewCon Press. Another in an anthology of apocalypse fiction featuring disabled and chronically ill protagonists, Defying Doomsday, published by Twelfth Planet Press.
In the summer, I published a full length book set in a new Hive Future. Telepath is now available in both ebook and paperback. If you haven’t read it yet, there are some sample chapters of Telepath here.
Just before Christmas, I published another full length book, this time set in a new Game Future. Reaper is currently only out in ebook, but I expect the paperback will be available in March 2017. (Paperbacks are always likely to appear a couple of months after the ebook because of the time taken up arranging different covers and formatting, as well as checking proof copies.) You can read sample chapters of Reaper here.
I usually put a story up on my website for the New Year. This time the creative side of my brain decided to write a short Christmas story so I put that up early than usual. Many of you will already have discovered and read it. Those who haven’t, can read my Christmas story here.
I think a lot of people are looking forward rather nervously to what 2017 will bring. I have a long list of book related plans again, though I doubt I’ll be able to achieve quite as much as in 2016.
My first release in 2017 should be yet another new book. Scavenger Alliance is set in the Portal Future of the Earth Girl series, but centuries earlier during Exodus century, and features one of Jarra’s ancestors.

Thank you to everyone who has been reading my books, especially those who took the extra time to do reviews, ratings, or send me personal messages. I hope you’ll enjoy reading more stories from me during 2017.
Happy New Year!
